About Ole BajlumAd Astra Translatører is co-owned by Ole Bajlum and Benjamin Holst Kjeldsen. We’re the go-to guys when you need a translation that hits the spot. Perfection – end of story.
There are a great many translators in Denmark offering translation. Some have an officially approved qualification as a translatør, just like us, but sadly there are quite a few with none. This is due to the fact that the title of translatør is no longer protected. That’s why we would like to tell you more about our professional value base – and what it means for you.
First, you need to know where to find us.
Our offices are located in the heart of downtown Copenhagen, because we love the buzz and the urban vibe, and enjoy being just spitting distance from the courts, ministries and a good cortado.
This is where we sit, with our dictionaries, official stamp and an open door every weekday from nine to four-thirty. We do so because many of our clients prefer to hand over a document in person to an authentic face rather than a faceless computer. And that’s how we feel too. We’re not the type to translate any document on autopilot. We’re far too fastidious and nerdy for that.
Words are at the very core of everything we deal with, but good service is at the heart of everything we do.
We help lots of private individuals, translating everything from birth certificates, diplomas and divorce orders to all manner of travel documents. These kinds of translation are often needed in a rush, and we’re all set up for that – because we have the requisite experience.
The majority of our clients are companies, organizations and institutions operating in legal, medical and financial circles, working on everything from writs, articles of association, contracts and annual reports to newsletters, websites and brochures.
We also have a number of regular clients working in the health, beauty and lifestyle domain, where the deliverable is appealing copy for glossy magazines and adverts. Always on target and always on time, in all languages – because our word is our bond in this business.
We’re diligent and driven when we translate. From the first comma to the final full-stop. But we don’t make a penny on much of our work.
Being a good translator is not just about commanding an understanding of the language but also about having a grasp of the culture. That’s why we don’t just keep up to date through the Danish and foreign media but prioritize study visits, so as to constantly keep abreast of the way language is evolving.
We spend a lot of time researching the political and legislative background too, so that we can always navigate, guide and advise you expertly and succinctly.
Some call it offering added value. We call it making sound sense.
We’re a small team backed by a global network of other experts. We make our living from translating – but even more so from confidence and credibility.
